Dr. Timothy J. Holzer

Tim is the President of BLT Biotech Consulting Inc., an advisory firm that provides professional services to help you accomplish your business objectives and has served in a number of strategic and technical scientific executive management roles for over 25 years. Since transitioning from academic scientific and clinical research at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical School, he has led research and product development teams and served in strategic management positions in a wide range of public and private companies including Abbott Laboratories, Centocor Diagnositics (now Fugirebio Diagnostics) and DiagnoCure. In addition, he directed genome sequencing technology development for the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.

Tim has a wide range of expertise including strategic business review & corporate development, technology & process Review, product development opportunities, providing technology due diligence and technical leadership/project design.

He has consulted for and served in interim strategic and technical management roles for a number of early to mid stage diagnostic and biotechnology companies including:

• Vice President, R&D at DxTerity Diagnostics which develops genomic tests and provides contract services and technologies to partner organizations
• Vice President, Diagnostics Development at HTG Molecular Diagnostics (NASDAQ:HTGM) which develops proprietary gene expression assays
• Executive Vice President, Product Development & Commercialization at Cancer Genetics Inc. (NASDAQ:CGIX) an emerging leader in DNA-based cancer diagnostics and services
• Vice President, Biomedical Development at CompuCyte a developer of Laser Scanning Cytometry (acquired by ThorLabs)
• Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President of R&D at Diagnocure Inc. which developed diagnostic tests and peak therapies in the fields of genitourinary and breast cancers (a peak market cap of $230 million during his tenure)
